quotations about negativity
The cycle of God, the good, is broken by a single act of negativity. The cycle of negativity is stopped by choosing the good -- not just once, but again and again until it is goodness that prevails in your life and in our world altogether.
JOHN MORTON
The Blessings Already Are
If I make dark my countenance,
I shut my life from happier chance.

You must absolutely refuse to surrender to the negative in your life. It is a cancer that attacks the very core of what you could be. It forces you into a hole that you can't climb out of and sucks you down into a darkness that leaves you resorting to blaming others and constantly searching for a way to take down your colleagues, coworkers, friends or even family members. Being and staying positive is a conscious decision, not a random act.

Negativity is fuel, it's fire, you shouldn't lose it. What's a better motivator than revenge? When you're mad at someone you do something about it. When someone tells you you can't do something, you prove them wrong. You shouldn't get rid of negativity. It's really important!

There is a lot of negativity and bad habits that just need to be cut out of our lives. Sometimes we hold on tightly to the things that are actually causing us a lot of pain. We are our own worst enemy. We cling to all the wrong things. We subconsciously do things that are very bad for us, the worst being that we tell ourselves every day that "we're not good enough" and "it's our fault". Well cut it out!

What we focus on, we empower and enlarge. Good multiplies when focused upon. Negativity multiplies when focused upon. The choice is ours: Which do we want more of?

Negativity determines Being insofar as it situates it in the transcendental space which it has unfolded in order to permit Being to manifest itself there. The entity which appears in this primitive ontological field can never be equivalent to it. Such a field rather surpasses the entity on all sides. This surpassing is so radical that it is nothing more than the dialectical suppression of the entity.

Essence of Manifestation
Evolutionary biologists tell us we have a "negativity bias" that makes our brains remember negative events more strongly than positive ones. So when we're feeling lost or discouraged, it can be very hard to conjure up memories and feelings of happiness and ease.

People who project negativity typically have low self-esteem. They feel badly about themselves, and their negativity is simply a reflection of those feelings.

The Power of Positive Criticism
If we let all the negative roadblocks influence us then it's only a matter of time before we end up detoured, lost, or possibly stranded on the side of the highway. Our positive attitude keeps our battery powered and our gas tank full, so that we can make it in one piece to our destination.

Successful Failures
To complain is always nonacceptance of what is. It invariably carries an unconscious negative charge. When you complain, you make yourself into a victim. When you speak out, you are in your power. So change the situation by taking action or by speaking out if necessary or possible; leave the situation or accept it. All else is madness.

The Power of Now
The mind that is too ready at contempt and reprobation is, I may say, as a clenched fist that can give blows, but is shut up from receiving and holding ought that is precious.

Being stubborn means resilience in the face of negativity. You'll begin to see that you have what the naysayers don't. Their criticisms and their judgments, are rooted in their own weakness, not yours. If you're stubborn enough, you will rise above the limitations they would seek to impose upon you.

Negative people can drag you down over time, and you might not even realise it until it's been happening for too long. But be brutally honest with yourself -- are there people in your life that mostly contribute negativity? If so, spend less time with them and see how you feel. If it's a marked improvement, then move on from them for good. If it's a work colleague or family member, and that's not possible, then look at other solutions: can you contribute some positivity to this person's life?
